I use an ADSL USB Modem on XP pro, and when I turn on my computer it somtimes wont detect it (the usb icon on the taskbar wont appear, and it wont connect)
is there anyrhing I can do to make it work every time.

Modem's drivers or motherboard drivers?
I dont even know what compeny makes the modem (globeSpan or something), but the drivers I have on CD are XP drivers.

hub

is the modem connected to the usb port on the motherboard or to a usb hub.
If its connected to a hub try swapping it and connecting it straight to the computer , The modem needs too much power to work correctly from a hub.

drivers are on the Alcatel web site,,,,be patient with XP and USB...sometines they don't fit together ;)

thanx,
well it it connected straight into the computer (no hubs no roughters).
about the second answer (the acatel thing), is it o.k to install the alcatel drivers on a non-alcatel hardware?

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
