USB driver problems

My device manager keeps telling me that there is a problem with my USB serial adapter and my USB controller. When I check the properties of these drivers it says that the devce is unknown. I've tried auto update - without any luck!

What is my next step?

USB and XP has been a real pain for a lot of folks. Have you flashed your bios lately?

Try uninstalling it, everything related to USB, reboot and see if XP picks it up.

List some system specs so we can help you out - mainly, what kind of motherboard?

It's a DELL System. The Bios has been updated to support XP...

hey

I had the same problem. Restart the computer and go into the Bios. Look for the usb in there and Enable IRQ for USB.

BOOM... it works, or aleast it did for me !!!!

Hope this helps......

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
