USB 2.0 PCI Card Question

I am looking to get a USB 2.0 PCI Card or a USB/Firewire mix.
My question is "Are there different performance levels from one USB 2.0 Card to another?". I see 5-port cards at different prices. Is there really a difference or can I just buy the cheapest one I can find. I would like to get a 3-port USB 2.0 with a 2-port Firewire but they are a little pricey.
This card is going into my XP Home system.
I've got a Dell Dimension XPS B800r system.

There should be no real difference between the cards other then possible quality and brandname issues, but seeing as USB 2/0 add-ins are new there isn't much comments yet in the quality department.

I found a BUSlink USB 2.0 4-port external PCI Card (UII-PCIP) at www.CDW.com for $30. I went to BUSlink and can't find the card at their site. Weird.

i ordered a generic one and on the box it had nec on the processor but the actual card said via and the drivers didnt work. After i tracked down some good drivers it works great. So im just saying your should avoid generic hardware.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
