Can anyone shed some light on this firewall message?

"Unsolicited incoming ARP reply detected, this is a kind of MAC spoofing that may consequently do harm to your computer."

This caused my system to freeze and when I rebooted, Control Panel/Network Connections was listed as "none" until another reboot.

Unsolicited ARP packets are nothing to be concerned over and ARP spooring is not really a scalable attack and not all that practically on the Internet.

I would guess the system freeze was caused by your firewall not correctly handling this event.

i was reading a rogue ARP packet can poison your network and cause the freeze, stops all traffic in and out as the pc / firewall cannot release the packet.

ties in with enyo saying the firewall mis handled it :)

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
