Is there anyway to hide this thing?? I have two NICs in my computer and one of them is very seldom connected to anything. Its annoying because I know the damn thing is disconnected. It doesnt have to be there constantly...

right click in the icon area and choose customize notifications or you can choose it from the startbar properties menu and you can set it to always hide.

or you can completely disable it from the network connections panel if you rarely use it.
