i was wondering what programs i could disable on start up that XP Pro has that i don't really need (as a home user).

svchost.exe
nvsc32.exe
AIM+.exe
taskmgr.exe
WkCalRem.exe
devldr32.exe
StatBar.exe
winampa.exe
spoolsv.exe
explorer.exe
svchost.exe
svchost.exe
IEXPLORE.EXE
svchost.exe
svchost.exe
lsass.exe
services.exe
winlogon.exe
csrss.exe
smss.exe
aim.exe
System
System Idle Process

that's my entire running program list (3 are from currently running applications, but those should be obvious enough)

Just from viewing the list you posted, I would disable
>aim.exe & AIM+.exe - AOL Instant Messenger and AIM Plus
>WkCalRem.exe - a reminder that you probably don't need
>winampa.exe - WinAmp Agent
>IEXPLORE.exe - if Internet Explorer is popping up on its own when you startup and you'd rather it not

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?

Impressed you have kept this alive this long EP! So many sites have come and gone. :(

Just did some crude math and I apparently joined almost 18yrs ago, how is that possible???
