I have many uncompleted downloads and when i try to view file size, my hard drive is at 100% usage and the same with my cpu. It will stay like that for several minutes and system runs so freakin slow. I have read several messages that people are having the same prob, but i haven't found a solution to this yet. It must be a reg hack, but i have had no luck tryin to find the key for it. It is gettting very irritating, does anybody have any ideas?

thanks

bah, you misunderstood me. when i highlight a file to view the size of that file, my hd is at 100% and so is my cpu. i have 58.3 free gigs on that partition so it's "not enough space" on that drive that is my problem. It seems like win xp is tryin to fix the file because it's not the correct file size. It's fine on completed downloads, just uncompleted ones. Even after a reboot it does the same thing.

LOL.... ok ok, lol. bah indeed, lol.

This might sound like a silly suggestion, but it's meant sincerely - don't try to view the file size until you completed downloading it.

There has been some problems with XP and uncompleted downloads. Do a search for "can't delete files" and a thread will come up and there's some help in there. All in all, I'm pretty much convinced it's uncompleted movie files that Windows XPlorer doesn't like.

I did try following a recommendation: If you want to delete the file, try using Nero's XPlorer. I've tried it several times now and it works. But I have had the same problem as you, especially files that are up over 300MB. MY cpu load is at 100% for awhile and the HD is running like a mad man.

Hope this helped a little.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
