UK Vista Prices!!!

I wana know what their 'Upgrade Anytime' prices are.

How will u use the OEM copy if you don't have a license or the product key?

you've lost me Lord. :p
If it comes with both then what's the point of retail versions?

Retail versions are entitled to full support from microsoft and in the case of vista the license follows you as you upgrade and/or replace machines.

OEM is restricted to support only via a hardware OEM and 1 motherboard change I beleive. However that last point remains uncertain until someone tries calling ms to reactivate.

Personally I will wait a long tome before spending money to upgrade to a operating system that will just use up all my system resources.

It actually runs much smoother and faster on my machine than XP does. :D
But it does utilise a bit more memory.... which puts the RAM to good use. yay!

So many people are putting of vista based on flase or misinterpreted information they've heard from so called "expert" friends or websites.

Just buy vista, there are very few people who will not benefit from it.

thank god for OEM.

simple question, should i go for the 64-bit version? currently using an old athlon 64 3200+, and i'm assuming that when i upgrade (hopefully middle of this year) all the processors will be 64-bit anyway.

LordOfLA, thank you. Exactly right. Cookies coming for that statement.

I've found the 64-bit version to run smoother and faster than the 32-bit version on my machine. I'm pretty sure most manufacturers will have 64-bit drivers for their hardware by the time yo get your hands on it.

I doubt the majority of the world cares about the rants of these "so-called experts" on blogs or forums anyway.

See: Vista's business sales stronger than expected.
And it hasn't even truly launched yet. :)

Re: Vista UK price!

I think its because they price them individually for each country. The UK prices are not related to the US prices they are apparently just set to be in line with normal UK prices.

Once again we are getting ripped off

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
