My computer has started to type on it's own ! Is this a virus ?

sounds like a backdoor/trojan horse latest virus definintions can usually pick them up

Probably speech to text is reading your mic. This is from the speech to text software in Office XP. Open up word and go to the 'tools' menu. uncheck the speech option. Run a virus scan just to be sure though.

Thanks everyone....turned out it was indeed the speech option on Word !

I know dude, same thing happened to me and it was very weird I tryed many things and none helped until I removed the spech **** on my computer.
