I am using CDMA mobile phone for connectiong to the internet. The default speed is 115200kbs. Under Linux i can modifiy speed of this connection upto 230400kbs by editting config files. Same can be done on MAC.

However i need to run it under Windows XP and there in modem properties in "port speed" section the limit is the default 115200kbs. In .inf file there is higher speed but windows doesnt give this option. How could i tweak it to 230400kbs?

C:\WINDOWS\inf\oem15.inf

Any ideas?

I can turn the speed of the modem connection up through normal user interface in xp, however the actual internet speed is going to be limited by the bandwidth of the signal regardles of how fast the modem is set

my internet speed isn't capped, it's limited by the capability of the network and the hardware lmitations, not settings, however that's sprint and possibly your network has administration limitations in addition to physical limitations

another thing to think about, and I know from experience,, your cdma might freeze at higher settings

at any rate, when I did set the connection speed higher there was no differance in internet speed when I ran my tests...that's bcause sprint doesn't cap the service

have you tried testing actual internet speed after you made these hacks?

well when it was set up to higher speed on linux it was actually downloading faster and there was not problems so i would like to tweak it with windows as well.

I'm at work and don't have time right now to retrace the steps but increasing modem speed is the user interface somehwere in properties

ok, go to network connections, right click on the connection that has your cdma modem, go to properties, go to general, go to configure

there's your setting, go for it

but I think your modem will become buggy and freeze at times when in use doing this and I don't think you'll get greater speed out of the internet

when i do this then i cannot dail/ connect :(

I'd have to see the applet, I can do whatever I want, but as I said before, no greater internet speed and the modem kept freezing

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
