WMP 9 Laggggg

I just installed wmp9 and i notice whenever i try loading a video it just says loading for like 25 seconds then the movie shows. anyone know whats wrong?

Hi,

I just downloaded windows media player 9 and I'm having a lot of trouble with the program in many areas and it is a little slower than my old windows media player that came with windows xp.

Can anyone please help me out by telling me how I can unistall windows media player 9 and go back to my original windows media player?

Also, I don't have the windows xp disc because it came preloaded onto my hard drive by hewlett packard.

thankfully, the old windows media player isn't gone

C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\mplayer2.exe

wat i do, and i think is best, is to associate all video files to that. Same commands to open and play, but just a different filename.

Hey, I finally just had to do a system restore to an earlier time and thankfully I had a checkpoint for today. Thanks for the help anyway and anyone that has this problem just use the system restore feature if you have windows xp.

Well I tried Media Player 9. Didn't look that much different to version 8 but couldn't get any WMV files to display any visuals. Sound was OK.

Used System Restore to get back to my original version and happy to see my WMV files playing normally again.

I have downloaded and installed the watermark removal tool for Media Player 9, but the watermark is still there. Does anyone else have this problem?

Try reboot.....

I love the new media 9 ...its faster.. if you cant open a file try reinstalling divx... and if that not works is it a mpg file ?? some mpg must be opened in a software dvd player like power dvd...

Wmp9 has completely buggered my pc, explorer.exe now tries to report home if I try to delete a file and if I terminate it restarts that exe. Please can someone tell me how to get rid of the damn thing.....

It won't play streams anymore and crashes if I ask it to play an mpeg, wmp 8 rocked, this is just m$ bs.

I dont see any problems with the new wmp 9 have not encounted any of the things I have seen posted here, only thing I have not found yet on mine is the minmizes to task bar that I seen posted somewhere mine just acts like it used to, but Idont see no trouble with it and it is faster to open I played a few songs with it a few mpegs , avi's all from my HD and its smooth weird

ALL the movie players! Waist of space I have better software that does the same job.... BETTER!

I don't like programs that keep hidden list of places you go and the music you play etc.

How do you do it?
