Trojan/hijack problem NEED HELP BAD!

Hey all hope you can help me with this. I downloaded what I thought was a codec to watch a vid, turns out it was a trojan. The trojan is listed by AVG as Collected.6.BC

It aparently also has a very nice browser hijack built in called "startsearch" that sends me to startsearch.c0m (DO NOT GO TO URL!!!)

It also installs popuper.exe and intmon.exe as well as intmonp.exe into my system processes.

I can't seem to shake this SOB of a hijack nor am I certain that I have ridded myself of the trojan. Here is what I have done so far:

Disabled System restore.
I have gone into safe mode about 10 times and done the following:

Run Hijackthis and removed all unknown items listed
Run McAfee anti-virus
Run AVG anti-virus
Run AdAware SE Pro
Run Microsoft anti-spyware
Run Stinger trojan remover
Ran Trendmicro online housecall scanner
Scaned HDD for any of the following: popuper, intmon, and popcap and removed all items
Searched the registry for the same and deleted all entires of the above listed.
Purged all temporary internet files, temp download files, cookies.


But no matter what I do I can not seem to rid myself of this damn hijack, and I can't get rid of the trojan either. Everytime I reboot into normal mode the hijack is back. There is constantly added to my system32 folder items that all start with hp(insert a random number).tmp AVG constantly is poping up say it found one, and that it healed it, yet it continues to happen.

I need a fix guys, really can't afford to format as my backup is a bit dusty.

and one more thing, make sure to rid of the extra anti-virus soft you have installed, it will give you problems of false-positives.

Thanks for the links, I finnaly (after fighting with it for 6 hrs) found the root file. It was called shnlog.exe. Boy was that thing a pain in the arse!
