Is it possible to have transparent color in jpegs? If so, I must know how! I have Paintshop Pro and access to PhotoShop if need be.

nope suuuure isn't if you want transpernt pictures you need to mke them in .gif format, I also thin .png format supports this also.

I like gifs but I want more colors...I'm having difficulty getting PNG transparency to work right.

How would one do it on a PNG?

100th POST!!!!!!

if your using photoshop, when your picture is done, go file save for internet, and in those options you can choose Png or gif and the transparent options!

I don't know about in p(t)ainshop pro cuzz I use adobe should prolly ask sboulema I think he uses paintshop pro send him a private msg

gif = 8bit/256colors & transperant
16bit = 65536colours
jpg = 24bit/16777216 colours sinnce having this many colours it's not 256x better then 16bit as u thought it would be
png = 32bit/16777216 colours/with transperancy

there is hardly any differnce between 24bit colours and 32bit
it's just that 32bit supports transparancy.

hope that anwsers alll your questions

Thank you, Ice-Freezer!

If IE would support transparency properly on a PNG, it would be perfect! Mozilla displays them just fine. :mad:

Mozilla also supports MNG files, where-as Ie doesn't ;) ..then again, most people don't even know that MNG exists.

Perhaps there's an add-on/patch/plugin that enables IE to render PNG properly, I mean it really is an issue that should be addressed, because it's plain annoying :D

indeed i made my sig as a transparent .png untill I.e wouldn't show it properly so i had to switch to .gif :mad:
