Recently my ISP became bastards (through no fault of their own, BT are to thank) and introduced capping, however off-peak traffic does not count towards the monthly limit, therefore I needed to schedule Bittorrent downloading/uploading between certain hours. A feature which Transmission (currently) does not support.
I created the (stupidly simple) attached apps with Applescript and run them at the required times with iCal, though they could also be used with cron using the 'open' command. I thought maybe they might be worth sharing
The file names are pretty self explanatory:
transmissionOpenResumeAll.app - Opens Transmission if it's not running, then resumes all torrents.
transmissionPauseAll2.app - Checks if transmission is running, if so, pauses all torrents, if not, does nothing.
A zip archive containing both files is attached.
