Tracking Down Hidden Programs

i love my gf3
no problems with it so far
runs every game i've tried at the res i like (1024x768) with no slowdown and i always have all graphic options to the highest

and also make sure you grab the latest referance files for ad-aware there's a link for them on the home page of this site just scroll about halfway down

just thought i'd write a little addendum to an earlier post.

don't delete those rasauto*.* files from the system32 directory. they are indeed xp system files, so xp will replace them cos microsoft knws better ;)

the executable rasautou.exe creates a remote administration service connection and there is another executable called rasdial.exe which actually dials the connection.

About the ras files. Tried to delete em and they reappeared. There must still be an internal program calling these files.

Problem is I cant find it

Thanks for your input

try this site. I'm sure it is run by god and your local pastor. It is a porn/terrorist media detector site. Finds tons of bad words on your computer. go to http://www.contentwatch.com/audit/ and click on the "Start Audit" button.

the rasauto and rasdial are what xp uses to dial a connection when you are in a command window - ie DOS mode.

they are probably not the ones being called by this hard to find program because they only work in DOS mode.

if its still happening, i suggect you download Active Ports. this handy program will tell you exactly which application opened which port and you can proceed from there.

:)

I will try going there now :)

Just downloaded Ad-Aware 5.83. I thinks it the Demo though

no worries there - ad-aware is freeware. i think there may be a "professional" version or something but the basic one is fully functional freeware - just make sure you also get the latest reference file and unzip it into the adaware directory...

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
