Tracing Command Calls on Boot up

I have an irritating problem. It doesn't really affect anything but it's really annoying.

I have XP Pro. When boot it finished the C:\windows\system32 folder is always open on my desk top.

I need to kill whatever is opening this folder everytime and if there were a way to see what's calling it then I could probably deal with.

Dell Support has been no help. They want me to completely reinstall the OS. Bah!

Thanks

Give this a shot:

Using Regedit, change the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/MICROSOFT/WINDOWS NT/CURRENT VERSION/WINLOGON Change USERINIT from C:\windows\system32\userinit.exe,c:\windows\system32\userinit.exe to C:\windows\system32\userinit.exe,

You might check here too.
Good luck.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
