Hi guys,
I need some info regarding the token ring topology and token handling. I have exams tomorrow, so I can't spent a great deal of my time searching for it. It just a small detail: Once a token status is set to busy and data is attached it travels along the ring to it's destination. When the destination is reached, is data stripped from the token and its status set to free, or is copied from the token and sent back to its source for verification purpose with status busy?
I have had a look around for this but can't find it fast enough, and my book says two different things. I know the topology dates from 1984 (some of you were not even born yet back then 🙂 ) but I hope someone knows this detail from his/her education.
