80 (HTTP)

If this computer is not supposed to be acting as a web server you should not have this port open.

I’m using Norton Personal Firewall which reports these ports (23,80) as being “Stealth Blocked”, “IGMP blacked” and “Block Fragmented IP packets”.

What’s going on here?

That is strange I am also on nortons and all mine are stealth .. there was a little app floating around called active ports I believe maybe you could look for that and see some more info about those ports

Heh - Heh... I love my XP firewall.

I use kirio for the sandbox, and for the outgoing information,...otherwise, I would just use the xp native firewall also

I don't exist either, with this tiny little thing.

it's free, it doesn't put pressure on the internet, and it's only using 4 mbs of ram

I LOVE THE TINY

All the ports that are as "open" are supposed to be open, my ISP blocks port 80 :( so i am safe there. I have SMTP and POP3 open for my pop3 mail and SMTP for outgoing mail.

FTP server is open for anon connections, upload all you want but dont expect to get it back =).

And the other ports not being secure, well i highly doubt that. I have yet to see my FreeBSD box be screwed over, but off course it can happen.

I got all "Closed but Unsecure" except this one:

Open and Unsecure!
139 (Net BIOS)

Having the NetBIOS port accessible to the Internet is very dangerous. Check your firewall configuration or install McAfee.com Personal Firewall if you have not already done so.

Is that bad? Hehe, I'm 56k, so I really don't care about that stuff.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
