When I try copying a group of files in My Documents I often come across the error message:

Thumbs.db, a database file.
This file has information attached to it that might be lost if you continue copying. The contents of the file will not be affected. Do you want to continue copying anyway.

The file size is around 11kb

Can anyone offer an explanation of:

(i) which program is writing these files?
(ii) what could be the information attached to it and how may it be affected by copying?

Many thanks

Thumbs.db is the cache file for the thumbnail views. Never got that message myself and can't reproduce it. Can only think of NTFS (not .org) file permissions or something of that kind.

remove the cacheing of them, then you want have that problem!!

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
