Thumbnails on desktop possible??

Since with XP you can now have just about all folders display thumbnails of images....was just wondering if their was a way to get them to display on the desktop. Occasionaly I'll throw a handfull on there, and with sometimes cryptic code names like the ones Kodak cameras give them, it would be nice to NOT have to open another app like ACDSee or something.....

Any ideas on this one?

:)

I've had the same annoyance: Lotsa images, little clue as to what some of them are without a preview. I toyed with viewing folders as part of an active desktop, with drag/drop functionality. It's clunky but it works.

Since the desktop icons are limited to preset sizes, not sure if thumbnails are possible. However, PSD files are displayed as icon-sized thumbnails, if you have Photoshop installed. You've sparked my curiosity, will research this.

In the meantime, store gfx in a folder set to view images as thumbnails. Keeps the desktop tidy too. :)

BTW, is it still snowing in Buffalo?:) I'm not sure if I miss the April/May snow or not. I certainly don't miss the -35 degree wind-chills.

There are programs that will give you an image preview when you rightclick. I am now using Shell Picture , also had Image Converter Basic installed. Both are shareware with a free trial. Image converter will stop converting after 30 days, but still shows the picture in the context menu (hope they didn't change this in the meantime).

No snow anymore....for now!

We actually had 60-80 degree days for the Frozen Four Tournament (ahhhh...the satire), and then we're SUPPOSED to get "wintery mix" the other day, but I think whomever the almighty may be, heard enough "it better NOT F*@#$&% snow again" from everyone around Buffalo, and we dodged that bullet.....

:D

Talk about weird.....

What a whacky sight to have an 80 degree day, and we still had Ice going down the Niagara River.....now that was surreal!!

:p

Open up my computer, navigate up one level and view your desktop folder as thumbnails

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
