when I open a folder, and arrange icons in thumbnails, the thumbnails tend to be really small, and blotchy colored, until i refresh, then they are fine.

I have heard of this happening before, and if I recall correctly, it was the windows folder image cache size or something along those lines, so I was just wondering is that the problem, and if so, how do I fix it?

many thanks missus and sirs

There is no central thumbnail cache in XP. They are cached in a hidden file Thumbs.db within the folder. See if deleting this file solves the problem.
Did you make any changes to thumbnail settings recently, in regedit or using a tweaking program?

hmmm, weird... the problem seems to have just stopped

Im relieved and worried at the same time, glad it stopped, but worried about what sort of weird problem caused it in the first place

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
