This program has encountered an error and needs to shutdown

I am constantly getting these errors when using Championship manager, have tried the different compatability settings still no joy, any ideas ??

Try this:
1) update CM or;
2) Uninstall/reinstall CM or;
3) shut down as many programs running in the background they *might* interfere with CM or;
4) Anyone else?

THanks for the reply mate, but U tried everything you suggested before I made the post, still crashes, seems strange as before my last installation of XP i could play it for hours without a glitch.

The error happens when the game pauses between games, maybe its using too much memory or something... dunno
