Hows do i apply it on a new HSF which already has one of the small, square thermal 'bits' on it? Do i need to remove that first?

Any tips would be great, thanks!

Yes, remove that! I once destroyed a PIII 933 because of bits of hardened cooling paste were in the way. I don't know how to remove it (it's very fragile).

The HSF is brand new, unused. So i dont mean bits left over from previous usage - i mean the square shaped thermal 'pad' that comes already on it.

Remove it??

If your going to use paste yes you have to remove the pad ... you use 1 or the other.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
