Well his new series starts soon by the look of it

Extras stars Gervais as a man who gives up his day job to become an actor but has trouble finding major roles. The show features cameos from stars including Kate Winslet and Ben Stiller.

It's not the pilot. That looks like a scene from the new series.

The pilot is mostly a word-for-word remake of the British pilot. The new series uses all new scripts.

I dunno. I loved the original, but I'm not opposed to the idea of an American remake. All of it will really depend on how well-written and funny it is.
