Text-based counter for website w/o scripting

My ISP (Comcast) only has a graphic counter to put on websites, and i want a text counter. since im using the isp webspace, there can be no server scripting. can i get a text counter to work under these circumstances? if i can't, is there a good, free service for counters, preferably text based? thx.
