why are motos the highest. are they run on nuclear fuel rods?

also sorry to be annoying...but it says 10 highest phones....u hav 11 there :p

There are ties. Three phones tied for the last spot.

makes me glad I got a SE and not a Microrola I mean Motorola

Its an american company isnt it, they probably just figured the costs of reducing emissions would be too costly.

apologies for this blatant stab at the us, I couldnt resist

another reason to add to my list of why i hate motorola!

If you read the whole article what's really interesting is the range of levels.

It runs something like 0.34 all the way up to 1.58. You'd think the high level phone makers would care more about reducing exposure levels if numbers that low can be acheived.

Razrs scare me. They make radios buzz when they ring.
Any mobile will do that to unsheilded speakers. I had a really crappy set that picked up Taxi radio transmissions.

heh... I'd just like to add that from what I've been hearing, Moto also has the highest number of faulty handsets. :p
or at least, their phones breakdown much quicker than other manufacturers'.

Your list (thanks) made me curious.

Good explanation of how we're (possibly) frying our brains:

How Cell-phone Radiation Works

If you know your cell phone's FCC identification code, you should be able to look up the SAR:
https://gullfoss2.fcc.gov/prod/oet/cf/eas/reports/GenericSearch.cfm

Or look at the label on your phone:

"In order to gain an FCC license, a phone's maximum SAR level must be less than 1.6 watts per kilogram (W/kg). In 2000, the Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association (CTIA) ordered cell-phone manufacturers to place labels on phones disclosing radiation levels."

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
