I have a 1.4 TBird on an Abit KT7A-RAID. The temp use to be 45-50C idle and stressed out. Now that I installed VCool, my idle temp is anywhere from 39 (lowest) to 45 (highest). After playing CS for a couple hours my temp is anywhere from 60 - 65C.

WHY is this?

Also, some opinions of the following would be nice.

Asus A7V 266E (thinking of this mb instead of the Soyo Dragon)

I posted about this in another thread, I read a long time back that programs like rain and vcool are B-A-D for the proc...part of the reason why your temp is rising if probably due to the fact that by using vcool your proc no longer has any Idle cycles...vcool essentially disables them that way when the proc goes completely idle it can shut down and cool off...

Problem with this is a heavy duty app that gets a proc hot does raise your temp...but there are some idle cycles between the work cycles even when the proc is almost at 100% usage...you have eliminated those easy idle cycles so your proc is processing all work and heating up more

uninstall vcool is my recommendation
