task manager on xp pro

I know to get to the task manager in xp pro you press ctrl alt delete and then click task manager but sometimes when my system is hanging i press ctrl alt delete and that windows secrity screen doesnt appear and i cant click tast manager to close the program i just get a screen of my desktop wallpaper with no icons or taskbar. is there anyway to set it so when i pres ctrl alt delete it goes right to the task manager and not come up with all those options to lock the computer, log off, shut down, etc
