I accidently stretched my taskbar upwards a few slots and when i tried to move it back to its normal size it woulnd't let me, the smallest it will go is 2x wide or complety off the screen.. other than that it goes up by one notch

hope that made sense, appreciate any kind of help

I am having exactly the same problem on a friends Acer laptop at work, it seemed to happen after many icons were accumulating in the system tray and now I can't reduce the task bar back to normal size. Try removing some of the icons.

Well I removed everything but still no luck

Can you post a screenshot of the taskbar?
jpg or png format preferred

Here ya go.. had to go to 1024x768 for the image to fit and its even worse this way ;]

Did closing everything include the quick launch bar and music folder? Make sure all toolbars are unchecked by right clicking on your taskbar and going to the menu called toolbars. Once you close those you should be able to drag the taskbar back down to a one din size. Good luck.

Try moving quicklaunch to the side
and not on top
