For some reason my System Restore option has stopped working. Ive tried switiching it off restarting, then turning it back on and restarting but for some reason it still wont let me create a system restore point. It keeps telling me to restart the computer and try again but still doesnt work.

p.s. im using xp pro if that makes any difference.

Do you have Task Scheduler enabled?

Verifying that the service is started from the Control Panel:

Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click "Performance and Maintenance".

Click Administrative Tools, click Computer Management, and then click Services and Applications.

Click Services, and then click the Task Scheduler service. Make sure the Service is set to "Automatic" and the status is "started".

If it still doesn't work after following dy's suggestions:

1) Turn off System Restore
2) Gain access to the System Volume Information folders on each partition and manually delete anything remaining in the folders
3) Reboot
4) Turn on System Restore
5) Reboot

Tried thge first suggestion with no success. Where do I find the system information folder?

Thanks for the help everyone!!!
