Hello, every single time I boot my explorer.exe crashes with this error:

Application popup: explorer.exe - Application Error : The instruction at "0x04376041" referenced memory at "0x04376041". The memory could not be "read".

I'm wondering if I have a problem with my system.ini file:

After explorer restarts all is fine but sometimes "memory can not be read" again with explorer when I open certain applications

Sounds like a damaged system file, or a bad stick of memory. I'm leaning more toward the latter...

When I uninstall Windowblinds it rarely happens or when I disable startups

You need to run Memtest but I would get Memtest+ as Memtest has not been updated in a long time.

I'm running memtest+ and have gone through three passes with zero errors. How many passes is sufficient?

Three should be enough but keep going if you want to. Have you tried running System File Checker?
Maybe Windowblinds has corrupted or changed a file.

I would but I can't remember which one is my installation disk. Rather than use my xpps1 bought from MS, I used a corpxpsp2 because I don't know how to slipstream (as of yet) and I just wanted to get it done. I have 100's of unlabeled CD's scattered all over my office.

That error is commoanly also called an access violation error. It means theres a bug in an application you are using. One of the apps you use that also interface or hook into explorer.exe (window blinds is an example, as is winrar, 7-zip, etc) needs to be re-installed at minimum or you need to look for new builds or find alternatives.

If the problem persists, run memest+ for 24 hours or more incase you have an intermittant ram issue.

Well, it's not windowblinds anymore. It's something else. However, I can start applications without seeing that error except on boot.

If you have more then one stick of ram, remove one and run memtest on each stick individually. Sometimes the scan doesnt get em when there's more then one stick.

After noticing two explorers after the taskbar (explorer) crashed and restarted, I became suspicous of a tray app that hides icon and restores icons when explorer crashes. Problem solved.
