as you can see on the screenshot (attached), ive had the blaster virus. is there a way of getting rid of these entires on the msconfig window as these no longer exist so why should they be an option to start up with windows?

open regedit from the run command and navigate to the keys you need to remove, right click and delete em.

The entries are under:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MSConfig\startupfolder

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MSConfig\startupreg

Enyo ???? sry to correct you but those folders are empty
if you look carefully in msconfig the location of the entry is stated as

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SOFTWARE \Microsoft \Windows \CurrentVersion \Run

2zee, when you uncheck an item in msconfig it is placed under one of keys i posted above (which it goes to depends on if it is a run entry or from the startup folder), if it were left in its current location it would continue to load with windows.

they were in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MSConfig\startupreg

thanks alot

oops sry Enyo & DFX my bad

I'll just go and crawl back under me rock
