Symantec - Norton System Works 2003, Pro. Ed.

WARNING! I installed SystemWorks yesterday (Ghost, GoBack, etc.) and everything seemed to be working fine, until I down loaded the upgrades from Symantec's site. My machine is now caught in an endless reboot loop. Symantec is aware of the problem and their support site says to start in Safe Mode, which does not work. No solution found so far.

For System info:
Intel P4/1.53GB, 1GB RAM, Gigabyte 8PE667 Ultra Mobo, 845PE chipset, ATI Radeon 9700 Pro, Promise Raid5 controller, running on Windows 2000Pro platform.

I love Nortons but, for some reason I think Go Back is the culprit here.

Norton GoBack is most likely conflicting with XP's system restore. Try booting from the XP CD either into safe mode or selective startup (I think that's what it's called) to bypass NSW, then uninstall it.

I use NSW2K3 without GoBack, Speed Disk and CleanSweep, and everything runs fine. Try the installation with just NAV (if you use it), windoctor and disk doctor. If that works, you can install the other components after Symantec posts a working fix.

The GoBack on the Systemworks disc is more than likely the culprit. I tried it and had the same problem. Once I switched over to GoBack Deluxe (newest version not on the CD), the problem went away.

Hmm, I use Goback 3 regular, never happened to me.

Go Back is an old Roxio product that had alot of problems. It was discussed here many months ago in several threads. As far as I'm concerned, it's junk, although I use most of Norton's other products with no problem at all.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
