Sufficient RAM for Windows 98se?

128MB, if you have more than 512MB you need to do some tweaking or else you'll get memory errors.

There is no "optimal", there is a minimum (64MB - which sucks), and as much as you can insatll (512MB?).

Run at least 184MB. My performance improved nicely when I went from 128MB to 184MB. Or 256MB if that works out better with available RAM sticks.

Generally the more the better. More ram means less pathetically slow hard disk accesses.

Min 256 and it will run well. When I was running 98SE I had a stick of 256MB and a 128MB one as well. That system ran great. Then I got stupid, I upgraded. It was never the same. :s

I ran 98SE on a P166 with 16MB of RAM - it didn't go too well hehe :)

Wasn't there something about Windows 98SE not really being able to utilize any more than 256MB or did they patch that?

I used to run it on my PC with 1GB of RAM, and it ran pretty fast.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
