hi,

since this morning i have a strange problem with the 3.5 disk drive
it doesnt recognize new disks
when i insert a disk nothing happens except the message "insert disk"
strange is that used disks work fine
the disks themselves are fine too; i checked them on another computer

can someone please help?

thanks a lot in advance
best regards

ps i run XP Home (nl version)

time to get a new disk, not worth the hassle of messing with it, u can get one for less than 15 bucks.

u might want to try one thing first, make sure the connections are connected good.

before buying one, i'd disconnect and reconnect the ribbon cable for the floppy. once you realize this was a useless and futile tip, then go to the store and get one. }:>

thanks for responding iceman38 and taurus
but i thought it was a software problem
cause it works fine with used disks
and its only 4 months old, so still in warrenty

thanks anyway

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?

Impressed you have kept this alive this long EP! So many sites have come and gone. :(

Just did some crude math and I apparently joined almost 18yrs ago, how is that possible???
