Alright, so I had my parents buy this E-machine. It was such a sweet deal I couldn't resist, plus they're gonna need a decent PC when I take mine with me. T3395, 3000+ Sempron 512K L2, 333FSB, 256MB DDR 3200, 80GB, DVD/CD-RW, Integrated GeForce 4MX, and so on. Also came with a 17" CRT. All that for $299 no rebates. Gotta love that. 1GB of memory on the way...
So anyway, all is good except for a few little things. Sometimes after installing software, such as sandra for example, upon reboot it says "new hardware found" and displays the wizard. For sandra, the hardware was "sandra service." It was in device manager, so I just uninstalled it and it never came back. Norton Antivirus 2002 did the same thing with something along the lines of "Symantec WMI service." 3DMark 01 did the same to it, but I can't recall the device name.
Why is it installing services as devices when installing software and how can I prevent this from happening? It's not a big deal, but it is rather annoying.
