You are correct, however it seems to be up and down like a 'yo-yo' at the moment.

It would be interesting to put a review together of the best of the free sites.

I tried signing up to boomspeed last night but never got my validation e-mail so I can't comment on them yet.

Not sure about a limit. Only catches I found was that people need to sign up to view the pics and I don't think that remote linking works. Other than that, I have had no problems. Nice thing about it is a "guestbook" feature where people can leave comments on the entire album or on any specific pic.
