Sticky Start Menu

Hey All: i'm using XP media centre 2005. Everything works pretty well but
every so often, when i click on my start menu button , it will not open
until i reboot the computer. Upon rebooting my start menu opens but
i have to re-open my "quick launch" bar in the "startmenu/task bar"
options. (recheck the box)
Anyone have any ideas?

Are you using any skinning software such as Stardock or StyleXP, these have been known to cause problems with the Windows shell
