status bar in IE

Does anyone know how to make any IE window open with the status bar (the bar at the bottom that shows the loading progress, etc) on?

The first window I open always has the status bar on, but any subsequent windows I open don't have it and I have to go into view -> status bar. Can I somehow make the status bar default for IE? When there is a hyperlink sometimes I would like to be able to see where the link is taking me exactly, and I don't know how to do that without putting the cursor over the link and looking in the status bar.

Thanks for any help.

keeping Status Bar on Web Page!

Yes, here is what you do! First go up to View and click on it and in the drop down menu put a check next to Status Bar and that will give you your status bar. But if you change web sites and lose it after checking it then do this>>> Go into Windows Explorer, enable the status bar, then go into the folder options and click the button that makes all folders look like the current one. Then reopen explorer. Hope this helped you please let me know, Tom

That seems to have done the trick. Thanks a lot, its great to have forums with knowledgeable people so willing to help!!!
