startup/ shutdown app?

im going on vacation for a week and i was wondering if there is an app that can turn my comp on & off. i was thinking i could put a batch file in the startup folder so that my comp would turn on in the morning, complete a few tasks, dl some stuff for the rest of the day & then shut off at night. anyone know if there is such a program? thx in advance

I have seen on some phoenix BIOS's the option to enable your PC to turn on at a certain time each day , this was before phoenix and award were merged like. Turning the PC on is gonna be the real problem, try reading up on WOM and WOL. My PC dosnt do what I want while im sat in front of it, let alone sceduling it to do stuuff while im away.
