Startmenu taskbar problem, need help

I've got a really annoying problem with XP-Home edition, my taskbar needs to be resized to double the height as I have many quicklaunch icon shortcuts. Sounds simple, unlock taskbar, drag to new size, relock.

But everytime I reboot, the taskbar gets shrunk back to the default size meaning I have to resize it everytime I startup or reboot.

Is this normal, or should it remember how I set it?? how can I fix it , and keep the taskbar as I want it??

Please help if you can

Regards

After you set it the way you want it, right click on it and lock it.

I also am having trouble with getting settings on the taskbar to stick. It seems to be a fairly new problem and it's all over all the XP forums. I would not be surprised if a Windows Update did it.
It has nothing to do with whether the taskbar is locked or not.
I will keep searching for the answer and post it if I find it.

Hello, Click on empty part of taskbar then click on Properties and see if the Box for Lock the Taskbar has a check in it?

...

wow...please read post more in depth...sorry stuy...not really sure...try the user options and check "Do not share my files with other users" or its equivalent, or "Let each user have his/her own settings"

well I've already checked if the bar is locked, yes it has the tick, it makes no difference if I lock or unlock the bar, as on every reboot, it always goes back to the default.

I hope a fix comes out, sounds like I'm not alone on this one

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
