Splinter Cell Error Help Plz!

I have windows XP Professional. I have built my computer from part by part. I have a Radeon 9000 Pro with 512 DDR ram and a 52X24X52 burner. I surpass the requirements for Splinter Cell and this error keeps poping up when i try to play the game. I updated my drivers for my Radeon 9000 Pro to the fullest and i put in the 1.1 patch for Splinter Cell. Also I updated my computer to direct X9. This is not a copy this is a REAL game. I don't know what to do. This error comes up every time I try to play it:



General protection fault!

I sometimes get this error but a reboot solves the problem.
With my GF3 it was relating to graphics card drivers, so try reinstalling those.

i just got to the cia headquarters and its good cause its mostly dark and my fps are god in the dark since my system is pretty old but im getting a amd2400+ in the summer
