Nearly the 19th here in the UK, this game looks very sweet indeed.

I doubt it will seccess on PC for many reasons, such as graphics on PC aren't the same on the three consoles( have you seen the flames in the game?).

Um, as far as I know, 80% of computers bought within the last 2 years have graphics capabilities beyond what the X-Box can do... unless they got a super-inexpensive machine.

But I could be wrong...

Anyone else having sound issues with this demo.
It is really irritating.
Almost identical to the sound problem I had with battlefield 1942.

it looks pretty good , but the dang camera keeps going in circles!
i tried resetting the camera, inverted the mouse etc. but it just keeps going in circles!

its still seems buggy, like for me when i press esc in game the text on the menu is messed up so i have to guess what is what. also, does it seem to run slow and laggy to anyone else?

i'm running an athlon xp 2000+ with 512mb memory, and a ge4 64mb.

although because of my gfx card it was crap slow, it did look purty at 1600x1200 =)

ok figured out why the camera kept spinnning,it seems if you have a game controller installed it somehow picks up on the z axis of your controller and won't stop the spinning until you reset
the z axis to the center! weird! anyway got working and played a few minutes of it. looking good so far!

the routine in the game is slow(the music comes in when you're spotted by the enemy and then starts fading when you finish them!)
.no blood, and the most stupid thing is that enemies get scared from darkness lol
100MB just for one mission that takes 10 mins. to finish it :(
I give it 3 from 5.

I actually found the game very entertaining... short YES... extremely... took me a coupla minutes...

but after I finished it I have been trying out all kinds of different things...

I am currently playing it on 1600x1200 with full options and there is no lag @ all... also sound effects are brilliant :) I swear you can almost hear his heart beat as he goes into hair raising situations..

his ability to jump is also pretty kewl... dunno if anyone else has tried it yet... if you jump onto a wall and jump again he does a jackie chan and kicks off the wall... just make sure you can control the jump... the whino outside... sneaking up behind him and grabbing him was sweet as well...

there are some nice innovations... they have done away with the always RUN feature and now you can control the speed of your player with the mouse wheel (if you have one)... its a very realistic game cept for the enemy not being fond of the dark... but on the hard level it is a little different :) not much but a little...

my friend has it on his xbox and I can tell you right now that my graphics are FAR beyond anything his xbox is producing...

so far I have had no gameplay glitches or sound or camera or anything... not discernible.. there is an issue when I am in the room where you will exfiltrate from and if I stand near the wall and move around (camera that is) the camera goes into the wall... just hope its a bug in the demo... :)

the nightvision and heat signature modes are brilliant and the optical cable thinger is to die for :) I love this game...

Have any of you played it on the X-Box? I have it and I can't pull myself out of the living room. I haven't tried the PC version, but the X-Box version is easily one of the best games I've ever played.

like I mentioned before.. my m8 has the game...

I have seen him play it but have refused to myself because I want to play in on the pc :) and it is not as time delayed as Halo...

it does look good... the story will ultimately determine whether or not I personally like the game.. but no game has ever kept me glued to a gaming system/pc like halo did when I first bought it...

we finished it within a week cooperative play... playing around 2 hrs a day for a few.. coulda been quicker but my m8's are not really into fps's and kinda have a massive lack of aiming skillz lol...

BUT I will buy it when it comes out and then compare it to the xbox game to see if there are any deviations from the story :)

Mentioned by snoop on MSFN:

1. Changing Movement Speed:
-Go into "Settings" and look for "ZoomIn/Accelerate"
and "ZoomOut/Decelerate" under the crouch
configuration. Mine is set to the middle mouse scroll
button, so when I want to run faster I move the scroll
button forward, and when I want to slow down, I move
the scroll button backward. This changes your upright
as well as stealth movement speed.

2. Rolling:
-First, increase your movement speed (refer to previous
instruction if you don't know how). If you want to
roll while in an upright position, run forward and hold
your crouch key for a short period of time, until you
begin rolling. The same is true for rolling from a
"Stealth Position". While crouched over move forward
and hold the crouch key for a short period of time
until you begin your roll.

3. Wall Jump:
-Stand next to a wall and face forward. Make sure your
body is perpendicular to the wall. Then, jump upward
with the jump key and wait until you are at the
maximum height of your jump, and tap your jump key
again.

4. Split Jump:
-First you have to repeat the steps of the Wall Jump,
but with one slight adjustment. Instead of tapping
your jump key as you gain maximum height on your first
vertical jump, hold your jump key until your Split Jump
is completed.

5. Drop Attack:
-Get into the split jump position and wait until an
enemy walks under you. Then tap your jump key again
to drop onto them, which knocks them unconscious.

6. Quiet Landing:
-Drop from your Split Jump by tapping your jump key
but hold down your Crouch Key until you hit the ground.

7. Door Peek:
-Move to a door and hold down your Interact Key instead
of just releasing it. The game will pause somewhat as
long as you are holding down the Interact key. Then,
with the key being held down tap your backwards
movement key until you see "Open Door Stealth"
highlighted. Then release the interact key and you
crack the door to peek in.

8. Split Jump Shooting:
-Get into Split Jump position and tap your draw weapon
key.

9. Hanging Shooting:
-Same as above but hang from a pipe instead of the split
jump.

10. Back to Wall Shooting:
-Press your back to the wall key and move towards a
corner. Hold the movement key that moves you in
the direction of the open hallway/room. Then draw
your weapon (while holding your movement key).

11. Hostage Taking:
-Sneak up behind an unsuspecting baddie until you see
the "Grab Character" option. Then simply hit your
interact button.

12. Body Shield:
-First take a character hostage like above, and while
you are holding the character hit your draw weapon
key. This uses the person you have as a hostage
like a shield while you can shoot at any other enemies
in sight.

13. Moving Bodies:
-Move up to an unconscious body until you see the
interact option, then tap the interact key to pick the
body up. Tap the interact key again to drop the body.

This demo is very exciting, but I experience two bugs :
  • Lights sources are visible through walls and doors (I have a VIA KT266A MB with Hyperion v4.45 drivers and an ATI 9700Pro GC with Catalyst v2.5 drivers).
  • The character (Fisher) keeps using the silent pistol even if I choose another item in the inventory (e.g. the pipe).
I would be grateful if someone pointed out what I have missed.

innovation my a$$..in fact this movement has been stolen from MGS 2...with PS2 controller if you press the upward key slightly then Solid Snake or Raiden will walk, if you press too high then they run!
about lights and shades..have been stolen from MGS2, too
Hideo Kojima rules!

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
