ya, I take my dad out for breakfast on sundays, and bing

I snagged it right away, turned it up side down, pulled the battery out...now I'm giving it a blow dry

I've been looking for an excuse to get the amd 64 in a laptop, so I'm almost hoping this one is ruined...be a shame though, it's about two years old and still runs better then anyone's new machine...even desktops

and now that I have my msn tool bar all configured, I have to do that all over again if it's ruined

anyway, any suggestions how long I should wait before I fire it up?

leave it overnight is a warm area, then fire it up and hope

bit of a comparison.. but i jumped in a pond (read: fell) with my phone.. (sorry, closest i could compare this to heh) in my pocket. I left it in the airing cupboard for a night, worked fine. I'd say maybe over night should do (if it wasn't an amazing amount of water)

Hope it works!

Ouch, hope it survives man. Just don't turn it on until you're absolutely sure it's dry. Open it up if need be, and see that there's no moisture inside.

If you do end up having to get a new machine, you might still be able to get the data off your existing hard disk.

ya, opened it, blew dried it, then stuck it on the floor in my car, turned teh heater on and took a two hour drive.

I'm on it right now

SUCCESS!!!

thanx guys

great news :) Glad it works mate

If it's wet, heat and hope. S'damn useful.

(p.s. - Shame about not being able to use the amd 64, maybe next time eh? heh)

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
