i am using comcast broadband, like it a lot, but if i am downloaded something and want to browse the web it slows my browsing to a crawl. i am using sp2 with the tcp patch. is there anything esle i can do? i am using sygate pro as a firewall too.

i really notice a speed loss when i use bittornado.

If BT is sucking all of your bandwith, of course even browsing speeds would be affected.

You could try limiting your # of connections and upload rate in BitTornado.

-edit- I would also suggest against the tcp patch as it was done for security and shouldn't interfer with a correctly configured BT client.

I think the firewall is the issue. It will eat alot of resources when using many connections (as with BT), check how much it eats while downloading.

bittornado allows you to cap the up & down speeds :)

have a look through the varios options till you find it.

i think it was sygate. i tweaked it and then removed it. it was slowing my speeds down a lot.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
