any rca cable should do. that's with these ends on it:

very common. used for audio/video.

Don't SPDIF cables offer better sound quality than regular RCA cables?

it's digital... so maybe they have a gold-plated contacts and a better wire to make sure there's no signal loss. after all... digital + signal loss = absolutely no sound.

so buy a good, quality rca cable, nismo. maybe the high-end home theater kind.

Actually the digital signal should be less sensitive to signal loss.
Analog + a little signal loss => crappy sound
Digital + a little signal loss => still perfect sound

And yes the cables are only gold plated, not gold.

right, but if the signal dips under the threshold allowed by the receiver (sub, in this case) then it's the same as having no signal. also, a good cable would be shielded better to guard against EMI (electro-magnetic interference).. which could cause pops or worse on your digital audio.

True, if the signal drop is to large the digital signal will go stone dead. The analog will go on sounding like cr*p. :p

I know you (most likely) know this, but just to clarify, gold plating has nothing to do with shielding. But a shielded cable is of course better than an unshielded. :)

Anyone use a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 with SPDIF (the digital out on the damn thing) to output into the digital in of a Dolby reciever?

I can only get the reciever to detect stereo :(
Not the reciever as I can get DTS with my DVD player. Damn pain :(

Electronic Punk, what cable do you use to connect to your Audigy? Nobody else seems to know, even though it's so simple. Thanks.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
