SP2 Holdouts

I think DEP can be changed via a boot.ini switch, got it in force at home, so just make the change in your build image and it should be fine.

Firewall is also disabled at home, third issue hasn't affected me.

Data Execution Prevention

We've added the 'always off' switch in boot.ini to get around the DEP issues on test machines and we're sending out SP2 to the client machines via Microsoft's SMS, making the necessary changes via GP. Until we can find a better way of making changes to DEP, we're looking at scripting a change that replaces boot.ini with a new version with DEP disabled.

And thats where I see the joke the whole DEP thing was the backbone idea for SP2 and as we see in the case here its a royal pain ... not to mention all the flaws found security holes post SP2 ... as soon as it was out there were more flaws found , all this talk about how secure it feels. Sorry sp2 is just another pr game for microsoft.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
