SP1 mysteries

Ive heard from several different places that XP SP1 / windows update installs software on your computer that allows microsoft to have unlimited access to your computer, and that this is stated in the EULA. I looked through the license but found nothing of that nature. Does someone know for sure what does happen?

nah, that isn't true. those places you heard if from is probly from anti-Microsoft places and saying that to scare people from not using it. SP1 just fixes alot of securety holes and also added something so you could either use all Microsoft stuff, none of the Microsoft stuff (but it keeps some things there (explorer for an example), to custom....

Thats interesting, because i heard the "rumours" in this very forum. But i hope your right anyway :)

I've heard faint rumors as well, but nothing concrete. Besides, I don't think they are allowed do that, even with the EULA stating it. And why would they want to? There is A LOT of computers with SP1. It's not like they could afford looking through them for illegal stuff.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
