sound jumps

not sure if this should be here or in hardware but i was just playing blood rayne and thought it was just that but when i played wings of fury i got it ther too, it sounds like my sound is jumping, like missing part of the sound, does anyone know why this might be happening to me, it is really really annoying, and yes it does still happen with EAX turned off which is what really gets me

well then, i am gonna ask creative and i will probbaly get a responce in about a week but if anyone else out there knows about it please share?
