bought a radeon 9600 xt, slapped it in the AGP slot, and for cooling concerns, I moved the sound card (sound blaster audigy) from the first PCI slot to the second.

turned on, installed drivers, everything works great. except for the mic. my guess is that the computer is looking for the mic at the old sound card address, but isnt finding it

can any hardware god offer some advice to a poor novice such as myself  ?

Try Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices in Control Panel, Voice Tab, and hit Test Hardware...

Make sure it's in the correct jack -- I know Audigys, Audigy 2s anyway, are all gold with no color identifiers.

It may have set volume advanced controls to default, where Mic is muted by default.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
